My Approach

Over the past 4 years as a full time brand photographer, I have learned that proper styling ensures cohesiveness & plays such a big part in how a message or a story translates to a photo.

Due to the amount of preparation a photoshoot takes, styling is often found to be too time consuming & therefore overlooked - and as someone who is very passionate about fashion, accessories, and making everything look beautifully cohesive - I'm happy to take this task off your hands, so you can concentrate on the many other things you have to get done as a business owner!

What I cover when I am in charge of the creative direction of a photoshoot:

  • Wardrobe Styling - selecting the right model(s), sourcing the right clothes (colors, fabrics, textures!), accessories if needed.
  • Prop Styling/Set Design - sourcing the right backdrop/location/studio & accessories. Your background should never be “too busy”, but they should definitely have the right elements that will bring some context to your photos.

Styling process

Prep day(s)

During pre-production, I will collaborate closely with you to develop our vision for the project.

Together, we will create cohesive looks for each model using mood boards to solidify our ideas.

I will source items, either borrowing from designers for exposure or purchasing from stores, ensuring everything is returned undamaged.

Production

I will arrive on set a little earlier to unpack, steam and arrange clothes & accessories before models arrive.

Once models are dressed and ready to shoot, I will keep a close eye on every detail & will make adjustments throughout the photoshoot when/if needed.

wrap day(s)

After the production, I will manage the logistics of cleaning and returning the pieces to the suppliers.

Note : when budgeting, remember to include funds to acquire all the necessary items for the production. This amount is separate from my styling fee and should include covering any incidentals (where an item cannot be returned for a refund due to loss or damage).
